Another visit from Windy!!! First up...Austria!

It was great to have Windy visit me again.  She keeps me busy and on my toes, but we have a great time.  She always plans the trip and that is a big help to me and we usually go places I haven't been, which is nice too.  She got here on Thursday and, with no time to rest, we were on a 7:00am flight the next morning to Vienna.
Vienna was a great city to walk around in and look at the architecture, and of course taste the yummy food!  We did a little Rick Steves walking tour to start off the day.

State Opera House

The Albertina art museum.  Had to get a pic of Henry Matisse!  Emerson was not named after him, but now I see the name everywhere!

Cafe Sacher......

and it's famous chocolate torte.  AMAZING!!!  We had it for breakfast :)

There was some strange artwork around the city....

Lederhosen....500 euros!!  Woah!

Of course we shopped!  That's what we do!

Neuer Market

St Stephen's Cathedral

Stephensplatz....more shopping!

Europeans are determined to sit outside and dine when it's not raining....all you need are a few blankets!

More weirdness......

St Peter's Church

Beautiful on the inside

Austrian National Library

Walking around the city a little more  to see what we could discover and we saw big lights and tents everywhere. We decided to walk over and see what was going on.  There were lots of tents with yummy food and horse gear for sale.  There was also a horse race getting ready to start (even in the rain I guess) but we didn't purchase tickets to watch it.  We just decided to grab some good food and wander around.
Rathaus (city hall)....great architecture to gawk at!  The horse race was going on around this building behind the tents.

Windy got her gluhwein(warm, spiced wine) and weiner (veener)!!!  :)

Next up was a (very early) train ride to Salzburg......
