Off to Paris!
Another chance to get to go to Paris?? Of course! Momaw couldn't come to Europe and not go to Paris! After she was well rested from our trip to London, we hopped another train to Paris and it was a beautiful day! And to top it off, my friend Wendy tagged along!
| Aunt Wendy bought Emerson a donut for the train ride..this girl gets spoiled from everyone! |
| Our first stop was the Louvre. It was closed the last time Debbie and Tommy went to Paris, so it had to be top on the list. |
| Mona was extra popular that day. I've been several times to the Louvre and it has never been this busy! |
| We went through a lot to get close and take this pic! Not good for anyone with claustrophobia, that's for sure! We were hit, shoved, and smashed against everyone! It was not fun! Then we found Debbie with Momaw and she said they let them through the ropes in front of everyone...lucky ducks :) |
| The moat from castle ruins below the louvre. |
| The ceilings are amazing! |
| Venus de Milo...aka Aphrodite |
| The Louvre is gorgeous! |
| They were doing this with chalk....very talented and working for whatever change they can get! |
| Momaw ordered croque madame for lunch...hot ham and cheese with a fried egg...yum yum! |
| Can't pass this beauty up! |
Fun picture time!
| Wendy took this pic and I had to steal it! Love it! |
| We found the Disney store! Almost more popular than Mona! After a little shopping, it was time to head back to Brussels. |
| Fun with "Taps." That's what E calls him :) |
On the last day of their trip we headed to Wicres, France to show Momaw some of the cemeteries where we had seen some possible family connections. Wicres is where they believe some of the Lamar ancestors lived before coming to America. It was another gorgeous day in Belgium/France, so Momaw got to see the landscape on the drive to France and back.
| The cemeteries were very nice and the headstones were huge and gorgeous! This one was bigger than my kitchen! |
| Lemaire is how the French would spell Lamar. |
| Back to her roots! |
| Three generations! |
| Being Momaw's mini-me. Momaw was writing a letter to the other kids because she didn't get to tell them bye before they went to school. Emerson had to write a letter too :) |
| Those grandparents sure wore her out! |
| Even a fall out of the chair didn't wake her! |
We had such a great time with Momaw, Grammy, and Paps! It was a blessing for us to have Momaw come see where we live and all the exciting travels around us. She is such a brave lady to travel this far and we were happy to get to spend such a special time with her! We hope she had as much fun as we did!
