We were excited to arrive in Italy and leave the Belgium weather behind! But when we landed in Pisa it was so HOT!! We had to wait in line to get on a shuttle that took us to the car rental area, it was not a short wait. There was only one shuttle that ran back and forth and it wasn't very big. When we arrived at the car rental area, which was also small and held every call company within, there were people everywhere!! Waiting inside and outside... We lucked out because no one was in line for our car company...which I'm not sure was good or bad. Then we had to search for our car by using the car remote because they weren't really labeled well....shocking! So, we finally got to the car and in the car, with the air on max, then couldn't figure out how to get it in reverse. Mike put it in neutral and pushed it out of the parking space! I just knew we were gonna hit another car, but luckily we didn't. Finally figured out reverse and we were on our way to Pisa with no GPS! They were out at the rental place...shocking! We started this adventure with no navigation and not a very good map. A little scary since I don't think I can live with out it in Belgium. But we did make it to Torre pendente (leaning tower) pretty easily looking for signs.

| The Leaning Tower-all the buildings in the field lean because of their shallow foundations, but none as much as Torre Pendente. It began to tip before the 3rd story was completed, but they decided to still finish it. Today's engineering should keep it stable for 200 years...let's hope so! |

It was a nice, steamy day in Pisa! Now off to our house in Tuscany, hoping to make it ok with directions from the owner and no GPS!
We were just a few days from seeing y'all there! It WAS warm indeed. I may need to remember to buy babywipes for the next Italy visit :) So glad y'all are having fun!!
